Thoughts on autism from an autistic woman

The concept of of a cure for autism is misguided because it presumes a clear-cut divide between autistic and the developmentally normal (i.e. non-autistic). The assumption, as we have found, is false. It is false simply because one can possess autistic traits traits without an autism diagnosis. This is the entire purpose of the autism spectrum quotient: look at how the behaviors of developmentally normal people compare with that of autistic people.
